Tips On Blusher

Blusher is used to bring colour to pale cheeks. If you have very little colour in your cheeks or if the foundation you use has blocked out any natural flush, a warm colour like pink or peach will breathe life back into the face. Aim for the apples of the cheeks and blend out towards the cheek bone for a natural look.

Some blushers appear very vibrant in the container, yet when they are applied to the skin they appear very subtle. Here are some tips for applying powder blushes:

Powder Blushers

1. Stroke over the powder blush using an angled powder brush (if you don't have one any cheek and face brush. Tap the brush gently, to dislodge excess blusher.

2. Apply the blusher to the cheek area, carefully placing the product onto the face. The direction of brush strokes should be upwards and outwards, towards the hairline. Keep the blusher away from the nose, and avoid applying blusher to near the outer eye.

3. Apply more blusher if necessary. The key to successful application is to build up colour slowly until you have achieved the desired effect.

Cream Blushers:

1. Apply the cream blusher after foundation application, then place a loose translucent powder over the top.

2. If powder contour products are used, these should be applied after the application of the loose face powder.

3. Note that light colours will highlight each feature so decide what effect you wish to achieve before applying the blush,

4. It is easier to apply more blusher than to remove, which would disturb the foundation.
