The Best Of Bronzing Tips And Tricks

Bronzer is used to give a tanned effect to the skin. Most bronzer will come as a pressed powder and often has shimmer particles to give a sunny glow to the face. Others will be matte and are great for shading cheek bones etc.. In recent years liquid bronzers have become very popular. They melt into the skin and look very natural.

Some people apply bronzer everywhere on the face to give an overall darker look, others use it to shape the face. If you are wearing fake tan, you can apply a foundation that is the same colour as your fake tan. Alternatively, you can apply the same colour foundation as your natural skin tone and make it darker by using Bronzer all over the face.  To shape your face using bronzer simply apply the product were you would normally contour here are some of my top tips:

1. Getting Started

If you don't know how to apply bronzer, even the right shade of bronzer can look wrong, so it's best to know what sort of look you're going for first. Sweeping your bronzer over the areas will certainly give you that lovely holiday glow but if you're after more of a contoured look go for a darker bronzer as it will be perfect for adding more dimension to your face.

2. Creating The Number 3

Once you've done your foundation, concealer and powder, it's time to bronze! It's best to visualise the shape of 3 when bronzing. Start off at the temple, going to the cheekbones and then under the jawline. This is where the sun naturally hits your face and focusing on these areas will give you that lovely glow.

3. Bronzing Your Nose

Apply a little more bronzer to your brush and gently dust over the bridge of your nose. If you want to slim down your nose, dust a small amount down either side.

4. Apply To Your Hairline & Jawline

To avoid an uneven application, it's best to remove any excess product from your brush before sweeping your bronzer across your hairline. Start from the centre of your hairline and move out towards your temples. To soften any harsh lines between your face and neck, finish by sweeping under your ear and sweep towards your chin.

5. Get Sun Kissed All Over

Take a large bronzer available in most cosmetic brands and simply apply down the centre of your legs, arms and collarbone. Avoid over bronzing by using a powder brush that's free from any bronzer - remember the key is to blend.v
